Backyard Landscaping Ideas |

I have kept many backyard landscape ideas in my mind now for some time, but i work some disasterous office hours and find it nearly impossible to complete and of the ideas ive had. I just want a nice yard! Even though many of the ideas i had were rather conventional and seemingly simple to undertake, such as a wooded picket fence around the roses and an entertainment patio for the BBQ area, they all seemed completely beyond me as i had so little time. All my friends badgered me, saying that i spent entirely too much time at my paying job, and that what was the point in earning it all if i didnt have time to spend it one my backyard lanscaping ideas. Well i had my first heart attack at the age of 54, it was quite obvious to me then that i needed time away from stressful work and to settle into the things i wanted to do, as it was a matter of life and death now. Wow i sound dramatic.
I am a person who, if he is not accomplishing something, has no direction and feels a great sense of fidgetyness. So, when i cut back my working hours to a safer level, i put my free time into a few of my backyard landscaping ideas. I started with the simplest, or what i perceived to be the simplest backyard landscaping ideas i had. I build a fountain for my yard, and i wanted it to run the entire length of the garden with a little bridge for the path to cross it. This was what i decided to make my learning project, as i was inevitabley going to make mistakes on my first project. Oh boy, i certainly made my fair share of mistakes. When you work with this much water, asides from the pump which was a bugger to set up, i also needed to remove all the leaks and set up leaf and dirt traps. It took me about three goes before i finally got the effect i was after, and after that shambles, i think i might try a little more planning to begin with. Dont be shy, get out there and show your backyard whos boss! |
